Isaac Okoh has won the British Elite Athletes Association’s (BEAA) Athletes’ Athlete of the Month award for November.

The boxer came out on top in a vote amongst Britain’s World Class Programme athletes after winning gold medals in the heavyweight division at both the 2025 Tammer Tournament in Finland and the World Boxing Cup Finals in India.

Having suffered a first-round defeat at the World Boxing Championships in September, the back-to-back victories were the perfect response for Isaac, whose double gold has provided a timely boost going into 2026 and a Commonwealth Games year.

“November was a good month for me,” he told the BEAA.

“I wanted to bounce back quickly after the World Championships, and I knew that for myself I needed to get a couple of medals to finish the year strong.

"Winning both tournaments was a brilliant boost for my confidence and I’m really looking forward to heading into the new year off the back of two gold medals in November.”

The Athletes’ Athlete of the Month award is presented by the BEAA on behalf of its members – elite British sportspeople who receive funding from UK Sport’s World Class Programme.

Isaac was up against Seonaid McIntosh (shooting), Bly Twomey (para-table tennis), and Patrick Wilson (Boccia), who won World, European, and World Cup medals respectively in November.

Reflecting on the acknowledgement of his fellow athletes, Isaac added: “It’s an honour to win the award.

“It's great to get recognition from other athletes who know how hard we train and how hard the competitions are.

“It’s just a nice pat on the back and it’s a good feeling to know that your accomplishments are getting recognised by other athletes who are competing at the same level as you.”

Congratulations to Isaac and to Seonaid, Bly and Patrick for being nominated.

Elite athletes can get involved in future votes by checking their monthly BEAA member email.
